Description: This Agapanthus is a beautiful, graceful flower with a long-stalked flower up to about 7 cm. The flower has a blue-purple inside, and the side edges often much lighter blue-purple. The Agapahtus is also suitable as a cut flower.

Pruning: Do not prune, except when used as cut flower

Flowering time: The plant flowers in August and September

Pitch:
You can place the plant in the sun. The Agapanthus has various uses; the plant is very suitable as a terrace plant in an ornamental pot (put inside in case of frost), in the border or as a cut flower for in the house.

Care:
Can grow excellently in a pot that is not too large. Use well-draining soil that retains some moisture. Keep moist during the growing season, after flowering and in winter water wisely.

History:
Agapanthus, also known as African lily, is native to South Africa and belongs to the Liliaceae family. Since the 17th century, the Agapanthus has probably appeared in Europe as a deciduous plant. It took quite a while for people to find out that deciduous Agapanthuses also existed.

Significance:
Agapanthus is derived from the Greek agapé, literally meaning love, and anthos, standing for flower.
