Description: The Metasequoia is suitable as a conifer and avenue and park tree. The plant has green fine needles. In autumn the needles turn a red colour and in winter the plant is bare. The Metasequoia has a medium lifespan of between 50 and 200 years.

Care:
Before planting, soak the pot in a bucket of water for 10 minutes. Metasequoia needs some assisted pruning only as a young tree. This involves forming a straight trunk with a crown on top. It is a fast grower and diseases are virtually non-existent in it.
History:
Shortly before World War II, the tree was rediscovered in western China. In 1945, the tree was imported to the United States. For a long time, the tree was thought to be extinct.
