Description: The Taxodium is suitable as a conifer and avenue and park tree. The Taxodium has light green fine needles. In autumn, the needles turn red. The Taxodium has a long life, more than 200 years.

History:
The swamp cypress is native to Florida. There, these trees grow in large numbers in the Everglades. It is a wet and swampy area. Swamp cypress can be seen there in shallow waters.In North and Central America, the swamp cypress forms its characteristic aerial roots when standing in water. In the Netherlands, a bald cypress most rarely forms aerial roots. In the Everglades it does, because the water level there periodically rises and falls.
