As you know, we have had a pond in our garden for four years.Unfortunately, together with our gardener, we did not manage to achieve a good balance in the pond for the first few years. The pond was sometimes clear but predominantly our fish swam in murky water.
My sister-in-law came up with the idea of placing a certain type of plant next to the pond. I have to say that I was rather sceptical, because how could a plant next to the pond affect the water quality? However, the result is perfect. Since a particular type of gale was planted around November, the pond has been clear. I don't know whether it is coincidence or because of the plant, but the result is there. Really unbelievable.
