History:
Brachyglottis is native to New Zealand and Tasmania. It is a cross between three New Zealand plants, namely B.compacta, B.greyi and B.laxifolia.
Significance:
Brachyglottis is derived from Greek, brachus meaning short and glotta meaning tongue.
